The purple / reddish tint to
the leaves of this broad leaved plant add a
nice contrast to the
aquarium. Alternathera
Roseafolia makes a striking impression
especially when planted in
groups. It can be grown in medium to
strong light but the stronger the light the
redder the leaves.
Depending on
conditions it will grow between ten and
twenty inches in height although it is a
relatively slow
grower. It is relatively easy to
propagate by pinching out and planting
the end bud which will also encourage
bushy growth. It is very tolerant of a
variety of water conditions but grows
best mid range.
It is one of the more robust
plants in the aquarium and adds interesting
colour to what can otherwise be a variety of
shades of green.
A must for any
aquarium.
