Barclaya Longifolia is a spectacular long leaved plant with a stunning reddish brown colour that will set off the centre of your aquarium beautifully.  It will generate small plantlets that will grow from the main plant and they will thrive when removed.  This does need added iron to maintain good health but this is easily provided through the use of aquarium additives available form your local pet store.

Barclaya Longifolia also sometimes has dormant periods when the leaves will die off but the plant does start to grow and form new leaves a few months later.  You can speed up this process by moving the plant but I always feel that the plant does this for a reason and would probably suffer if forced.
