 Light level needs to be high for this grass like plant.  Tape Grass provides excellent shelter for smaller fish when planted in groups.  It is important not to bury the crowns of these plants.  When it comes to pruning simply cut off the leaves that have grown too tall.  Resist the temptation to cut them back as the portion that you leave behind will simply rot.  a dramatic background plant.
