Water Sprite tolerates a
wide variety of water conditions and will grow
quickly requiring pruning to keep it under
control. It is easy to propagate by
planting cuttings into the substrate to take
root. It is a great plant for removing
excess nitrate from the tank but will quickly
grow up and out of the water if left
untended. In the wild it grows in still
water and will do better in a part of
the aquarium away from water
movement.
It can also thrive as a
surface plant growing an extensive healthy root
system. but will quickly create too much shade
in the tank if not kept under control.
This plant is a prolific grower and can
be grown by even the unluckiest of aquarium
keepers.
A nice plant for filling
spaces quickly but prune it well before going
on holiday!
